Microchip Information

    Can anyone get their pet microchipped?
    Yes, members of the public can bring their cat or dog down to be microchipped. Dogs must be on leash and cats must be in a carrier.

    How much does it cost?
    $20 per pet. We can accept cash only at this event.

    Do I have to come to the Microchip Clinic?
    Yes, in order to have your pet Microchipped for $20 you must bring them to the event between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Pets will be seen on a first come first serve basis.

Why Microchip?

    What is a Microchip?
    A microchip is a rice gain-sized transponder, on which a unique number is embedded. The microchip is inserted using a needle between the shoulder blades of dogs and cats, in a relatively painless procedure, which takes just seconds.

    What do I do if my pet gets lost?
    Contact 24PetWatch and file a lost pet report. 24PetWatch offers you the support of the Pet Recovery Team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

    My pet is lost but wasn't wearing its collar, what do I do now?
    If your pet's collar is missing, the finder of your pet is likely to take them to a veterinary clinic, animal shelter or animal control agency where you pet will be scanned for a microchip. These agencies will then contact 24PetWatch.

    What happens when my lost pet is brought to a shelter?
    Clinics, shelters or animal control centers use the identification code when they call the 24PetWatch Pet Recovery Center to find out the pets identification information and reunite the pet with its guardian.
